About the Book — The Synopsis

Book I

A few years into their marriage, an airline pilot and his wife lose their first child, a premature baby girl a few hours after she is born. Unable to cope with the devastating loss, husband and wife drift apart in the unending sorrow of their lives in England.

Then after ten years, a freak accident at an airport in Johannesburg brings the veteran pilot face to face with a South African beauty who fills him with new-found love and a purpose in life. But their inter-racial love affair goes against everything the woman’s brother stands for; and as a professional hitman, he makes a point of showing his disapproval, especially after his sister falls pregnant.

Yet the pilot and his lover are determined to live out their love for one another in their love nest in Johannesburg and have the baby, each one for their own selfish reasons. She must deal with a bloody secret from her past, while the pilot grows ever more removed from his wife. In the confines of her life in rural England, she has become desperate for a connection with her absent husband and finds a dramatic way to deal with her grief, her guilt and her husband’s betrayal.
